it’s not the thing you fling, it’s the fling itself April 7, 2010

If you’re looking for last night’s Idol recap it’s down below.  But while I have the time, I wanted to share yet another of my favorite TV moments.

I’ve written before about the shows I watched growing up, thanks to my parents.  This…this…masterpiece of a television show was very clearly a part of my childhood, and as I have gotten older, I’ve come to realize why things were so funny, that the characters are as good as they come, and Rob Morrow has become my second-favorite actor, ever.  (Guesses on the first?)

-Sidenote – Rob Morrow named his daughter Tu.  Get it?  Tu Morrow.  I’d smack most people around for doing something like that, but it’s just so awesome that it makes me love him that much more.  *Moment of silence for Numb3rs.*

Northern Exposure was your classic cult show.  Set in Cicely, Alaska, actors like John Corbett and Barry Corbin made this show ridiculously awesome.  Emphasis on ridiculous. So below is one of my favorite Northern Exposure moments, although I’m guessing you won’t be able to appreciate it nearly as much as I did.  But with lines like, “We’re here today to fling something that bubbled up from the collective unconsciousness of our community,” you have to be at least a little intrigued, right?

Do yourself a favor and start in on the first season.  It’ll take you a few episodes to warm up to it, but you’ll be glad you did.

Let’s fling something, Cicely!
