What are friends for, anyway?

Since I am a scheduling fool, and have myself working until midnight tonight, and up for a 6am meeting tomorrow morning, I asked my friends Laurie and Jared to fill in for me.   They’ve been my friends since high school – ever since Laurie and I stalked Christian music artists and Jared tried to set me on fire in Chem lab.  Tonight you have the distinct pleasure of their guestblogging for me.  Don’t get too attached – I’m not planning on missing any more episodes, and they were my friends first, ok?

Meg is off being responsible and doing her job and all. So she asked me to fill in as a guest blogger. Funny thing is I really know nothing about music! Don’t worry. We’ll get through this together.

Tonight, my husband and I decided to give you a he said/she said version of American Idol. (Well, for the most part. He fell asleep towards the end.)

Vera Wang was there. Does this surprise anyone else? Maybe she wants Ellen’s spot or ‘E’,as Randy and Jared like to call her.

Dont worry Meg, Kara found a brush, but her hair is getting bigger. Are we trying to keep up with Snookie? Ok, just found out Jared liked it. Who knew he liked the big poof and extensions?

Crystal Bowersox

He: Shes good. The space in her teeth bothers me though. I dont like how they are trying to girly her up.

She: New make up this week? Still love her and she sounded that good after being in the hospital. Point for you. Plus, with a name like Bowersox, how can she not be voted for? Point for you. In case she need more points, she is from Ohio. That one always counts.

Haeley Vaughn-

I cant lie. We both sighed. She is annoying.

He: This is gay. She is not good at all, totally missing notes. Her dress is cute though.

She: I’m so glad it wasnt Party in the USA. Totally would have ruined the song for me, and I love singing that in the car. Oh you know you do too. Ok, at least I know Meg does. Check out those shoes. I wonder if she is taller than Ryan in those. Almost.

Lacey Brown

He: Decent in some points and then oooh She sounds like she singing out her nose. Its like she wants to powerful but doesnt have the power. Its weird.

She: Meg, did you see the table she did with the black top she did? I think you and her would bond over that table. Not in the way you bonded over Jake as a coffee table. Can I just say that I loved her shoes? After all, that is the importance of this show.

Katie Stevens

He: Over achiever. Its like she is the girl from Glee. Shes good. Shes trying to be too sexy with her face, and it is awkward.

She: Every girl needs a pair of blue shoes. (Editor’s note:  Amen.) I would make a Pandora station out of her, but I couldn’t listen to it all day long. Trust me, I;m the person who will listen to the same 5 songs over and over again all day. She just won’t cut it for me.

Didi Benami

He: Her voice is just too different. I dont care for it. Stop being a whiner. Youre a frickin baby. Suck it up.  (Editor’s note:  there’s the Jared we all love so much…)

She: Hey! I like her voice. One of my top picks and I wish I had a Pandora station like her at work right now. This song though was a bummer. Did you see her friend with a homemade shirt! Didi rocks on idol. Meg, I know you’re jealous you didn’t think of it. You could start a collection of shirts. The first one of course being Backstreet Boys.  (I loved BSB when I was 13….and I still do!)

Michelle Delamor

He: Arms wide open? Bad choice. Awful, dumb. Kara - you swallowed a terd on this one for saying you loved it.   (Hahahahhahahahha oh Jared)

She: Can we change the channel? Her dress is like a wedding dress that got cut off. Randy no. She looks like daisy duck with a black jacket and awkward gloves. Ok, Jared didnt know there was a daisy duck! Donald needs a girlfriend.

Lilly Scott

He: Her sound is the same as last week. It hasnt changed.

She: Do you have a friend who looks so good in a dress like hers? Then you try one on and look like your 7 years old. Ya, I’m on the second half of that one. Good for you Lilly for being able to wear that. Oh, and yes, lets add a Lilly Scott Pandora station to my list at work. Pandora, if you start adding in a Haeley Vaughn though, we are done.

Katelyn Epperly

He: Its like she is crying every time she sings.

She: Not rocking the big hair this week? Sad day. You gotta love a girl who isnt afraid of her hair being a little wild, ya know? We all have those days.

Paige Miles

He: Sorry, he fell asleep from here on out. I guess he wasn’t that impressed, but to his defense I had him get up and work out with me this week at 5:30. I already got the no about tomorrow’s work out.

She: She definitely wears different earrings all the time! Ok, not during this performance, but all the videos they totally dont match. The green ones though are the perfect shade of green.

Siobhan Magnus

Of all the things I wanted to do before I’m 30, it’s not getting a Mohawk. Good for you though. Not gonna lie, I look at her name and have no idea how you get the pronunciation of her name.

Thanks to Jared and Laurie for stepping in this week – I have to admit after reading their post, I’m anxiously awaiting viewing the episode for myself…check back for my updates this weekend – new stuff is coming!
